Johann is filling bags of feed for his horses to eat during the winter. He is able to fill a 15-pound bag of horse feed in 9 minutes. He is also filling smaller 8-pound bags with horse feed at the same rate. At this rate, how long does it take Johann to fill an 8-pound bag with horse feed?

create and solve an equation of ratios:

15 lb        8 lb
--------- = ------
 9 min        x

Then 15x  = 72, and x = 4.8 (minutes) (answer)
