Period, T= 2pi*sqrt (m/k)
If T=3 sec

3= 2pi*sqrt (m/k) => m/k = (3/2pi)^2 = 0.228

If the mass is tripped,
T= 2pi*sqrt (3m/k) but m/k = 0.228

T= 2pi*sqrt (3*0.228) = 5.196 seconds
