The organization that was created to unionize both unskilled and skilled workers was Congress of Industrial Organization. This federation brought workers together in industrial fields to form unions from the US to Canada from 1935-1955. The American version was the largest federation of the unions ever in the US. It included fifty-six unions which represented over 12 million workers who were both active and retired.
