4b+3=9
Subtract 3 from both sides,
4b=6
Divide by 4 on both sides,
b=1.5

subtract the 3 from both sides of the equation to get the 4b alone on one side of the equation. Now you have 4b=9-3 now subtract to get 4b=6 now divide both sides by 4 to get b=1.5
