This question is a bit tricky as a) and d) could apply. I think, however, that a) is the correct answer in this case.

Intelligence tests that can be traditionally carried out in group settings are done through the paper and pencil method. This means that they aren't computerized where participants could solve computer tasks. It means that participants have different tasks which they have to fill out by hand on paper, as the name implies.
