Slope-intercept form is y = mx + b. In this form, m is slope and b is y-intercept. Slope is rise over run. The formula for this is (y2-y1)/(x2-x1). Y-intercept is the value of y when x is equal to 0.
1. Slope = 8 ; Y-intercept = 0 y = mx + b m = 8 ; b = 0 y = 8x + 0 y = 8x
2. Slope = 1 ; Y-intercept = 2 y = mx + b m = 1 ; b = 2 y = 1x + 2 y = x + 2
The answer to #1 is y = 8x. The answer to #2 is y = x + 2.
