50 = 30 + 2W
50 - 30 = 2W
20 = 2W
20/2 = W
10 = W.....so the width is 10 inches
Let width be x.

Length = 15 inches

Perimeter = 50 inches

2(l + w) = 50

2(15 + w) = 50

15 + w = [tex] \frac{50}{2} [/tex] = 25

w = 25 - 15

w = 10

Hence, width is 10 inches.
