The condition wherein the bronchial epithelial cells are replaced by a fibrous scar tissue is the Bronchiectasis. It is classified as a chronic illness which is characterized by the widening of the bronchial tree and inflammation of the passages. This inflammation would lead to the replacement of the epithelial cells by the fibrous scar tissue.
