What is Photosystem II?

- It uses the sun's light to catalyze the separation of transmembrane charges.
- Water molecules are divided into hydrogen ions (H+) and oxygen atoms by Photosystem II, which obtains replacement electrons from them.
- Molecular oxygen (O2) is formed when oxygen atoms combine and are discharged into the environment. In the lumen, hydrogen ions are released.
- After the photon strikes, photosystem II delivers the liberated electron to the first of a sequence of proteins known as the electron transport chain inside the thylakoid membrane.
What are thylakoids?
