Step 1 - Converting mass, moles and number of molecules
a) Converting mass to moles
To convert between these two unities we'll be using the molar mass of the substance. The molar mass can be found at the periodic table and gives the mass of one mole of that susbtance.
Let's say we want to calculate the molar mass of water, H2O. Looking at a periodic table, we find that the molar masses of H and O are, respectively, 1 g/mol and 16 g/mol.
