Percentages
If we want to calculate X percent of a number Y, we operate as follows:
X*Y/100
The tax rate in some state is 3.2%. It applies to all gross earnings.
Suppose your gross earnings are $4000
The tax deduction will be
3.2 ¨* 4000 / 100 = $128
The paycheck of your weekly salary is $425, thus the deduction is:
3.2 * 425 / 100 = $13.60
