Plot the given equations to see the graph of each line.

To do so, choose two values for x and calculate the corresponding values of y. Draw the points (x,y) on the coordinate plane and then draw a line that passes through both. Do the same for each equation.

For example, if x=0 on the first equation, then:

One point on the line is (0,-5). For x=3 we would get the point (3,-2):

Perform a similar procedure to draw the line of the equation y=(4/3)x+1:

From the graphs, we can see that the line y=4/3 x+1 is steeper. It intersects the y-axis at y=1.
