how does one find the average of a certain amount? For example there are 30 teams shooting different averages. How does one do the math finding out the 30 teams shooting average all together?

Well, to find the average I just sum up all the shoots and then I divide the result by the number of teams.

Ex. Team Shoots

1 15

2 17

3 12

4 19

5 16

Total = 15 + 17 + 12 + 19 + 16

= 79

Average = 79 / 5

Average = 15.8
