x^2 + 100 = 0
[tex]\begin{gathered} x^2=-100 \\ x=\sqrt[]{-100} \end{gathered}[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} x=\sqrt[]{-1\times100} \\ x=\pm10\sqrt[]{-1} \\ x=\pm10i \end{gathered}[/tex]
