Please help me solve question 2 on my algebra 1 hw

We will solve this problem thus:
[tex]\begin{gathered} 3y-2=\frac{4}{3}y+5 \\ \text{Collect like terms} \end{gathered}[/tex][tex]\begin{gathered} 3y-\frac{4}{3}y=5+2 \\ \frac{5}{3}y=7 \\ 5y=21 \\ y=\frac{21}{5} \end{gathered}[/tex]Now we will find the value of y-1 thus:
[tex]\begin{gathered} y-1 \\ =\frac{21}{5}-1 \\ =\frac{21}{5}-\frac{1}{1} \\ =\frac{21-5}{5} \\ =\frac{16}{5} \end{gathered}[/tex]
