Why do Odysseus's men refrain at first from
eating the cattle? How does the situation change
while they are on the island? Use textual
evidence to support your answer.

Respuesta :

The men swore an oath not to eat the cattle of the gods, which were sacred to Helios. The situation changes when they've been stranded for a month and have no food..... the men are starving and break their oath.
