How do I format this sentence?

Note after note they chased one another in rhythmic leaps as they bounced from left to right.

(Grammarly tells me that I'm only missing punctuation between the second "note" and "they") When I put a comma there, it still said the sentence had wrong punctuation, do I need a colon or semicolon?​

I think that Grammarly is just an app, and doesn't always work perfectly. Must be some glitch because once you add the comma it should be fine! (-:
