Maltose and Lactose both contain the same number of atoms of each element, C, H and O. State two other structural similarities between lactose and maltose.

The similarities are given below;
1) both have same type of bonds between their monomers called glycosadic bond.

2) maltose and lactose are both diasaccharides.

3). The glycosadic linkages in both of them is 1-4.

Difference between maltose and lactose;

1) Maltose is present in fruits while lactose is present in milk.

2) maltose= glucose+ glucose
Lactose= glucose + galactose

3). Maltose= maltase enzyme
Lactose= lactase enzyme
