what following ? actually the cell will gain more water by diffusion and will let more sodium chloride ions in because they will move from high concentration to low concentration

:  None of the above. The person with the microscope doesn't know what he's doing -- most likely is unfamiliar with the workings of a microscope. 
If you put a plant cell into a hypertonic solution, the plant cell does lose water to the environment, mostly through shrinking of the central vacuole. The cell membrane pulls away from the cell wall.
