The root is the organ of a plant that typically lies below the surface of the soil. The roots bind the plant to the earth as they spread out in search of moisture. These roots allow water to flow from the soil into the plant.
Next, the sun draws the moisture out of the plants into the air, eventually forming clouds. When rain falls from these clouds, it enters into the soil, where it is once again drawn into the plants, and the cycle begins again. The roots carry on the circulation of the waters between earth and sky. This is a very valuable process for all plants.
