here is a simple equation for this problem
[tex] \frac{x2 -x1 }{y2-y1} [/tex]
so this would be the equation
[tex] \frac{4--8}{10-2} [/tex]
4--8 would change to 4+8 because of the double negative
12/8 is the slope for your line
Hope this helps!
