Declaration of rights was ratified a month before the Declaration of Independence was written. The grievances were written two years before both of them.

The grievances were a list of injustices that the king had done to America (tea taxes, etc.). The list was sent to the king, and it stated that if he were to quit doing these things, they wouldn't go to war with Britain. However, the king denied this.

The Virginia Declaration of Rights is a document drafted in 1776 to proclaim the inherent rights of men, including the right to reform or abolish "inadequate" government.

The Declaration of Independence is the statement that the Second Continental Congress made at a meeting in, the infamous, Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The document stated that the thirteen colonies were going to war with Great Britain, to become free from the European country. The Declaration was written by Thomas Jefferson. It was ratified on July 4, 1776, which is why we celebrate Independence Day on July 4th every year in the USA.
