The father would be dominant recessive. The mother is white so therefore her genotype would be recessive, bb . And the offspring are 50%, 50%. So therefore there has to be a Dominant gene present to form black offspring. But he can not be completely dominant or all the offspring would be black. So the fathers genotype would be Bb B=black b=white and his phenotype would be black.
