What you need to do is cancel everything to the left of the equal sign. Solve that problem.. The answer to that is 0. So what, plus 4 equals 0? -4
7x-5x-3=x+4
         +3    +3
 7x-5=x+7
2x      =x+7
-x        -x
     x=7
