I can understand that negative numbers AND exponents can be tricky to get to learn! I've been there! Let me now explain what the answer is and why -
Your answer to (-3)³ will be a negative outcome because -
Negative + Negative = Positive
Positive + Positive = Positive
Negative + Positive = Negative
In your math case, negative + positive = negative so you'd have a negative value.

(-3)³
= (-3) × (-3) × (-3)
= (-3)³
= -27
You could use a scientific calculator to get the answer to these kinds of problems, too!
