Codominance is a type of inheritance where the alleles of a gene pair in a heterozygote are formed.

Explanation:

Codominance occurs when two alleles of the same gene are present in a living thing. The A and B alleles for blood type are expressed at the same time that results in AB blood.

The Red blood cells have two different protein decorations. The trait is dominant since both A and the B alleles are visible in the blood. The phenotype of the offspring is a combination of the phenotype of the parents. So, the trait may either be dominant or recessive.

If two alleles for a trait are equally expressed as dominant or recessive, it creates codominance. For example, If a person with type AB blood , states that both A allele and B allele are equally expressed.
