If David earns $8/hr. plus 1.5 times his normal rate for any hours over 40, then how many hours of overtime each week does he need to work on average if he needs to make at least $500 a week over the summer in order to save enough to go to college?

55 hours 40 hours at $8 an hour equals $320 so then 15 hours which is the rest of the 55 hours at 12 an hour equals $180 and $320+$180=$500
