So let the shortest side be x

Then the lenght of one long side is 2x

Therefore the perineter is 2x + 2x + x = 30

We now solve for x

2x + 2x + x = 30

5x = 30

x = 30/5

x = 6

So the lenght of the shortest side is 6cm
