Do we really want to go to a school that forces us to walk
through a metal detector every day or where the
administration is allowed to search our bags or lockers
whenever they want? What is this, a prison or a school?
know the administration is concerned about our safety and
that recent incidents at our school have made them feel
that metal detectors and surprise searches are the only
ways to keep us safe. But is giving up our right to privacy a
good alternative? I personally don't feel any safer walking
through a metal detector on my way to first period. I think
there are other ways to keep us safe while at the same
time respecting our right to privacy.
