From the 1850s to 1950s most immigrants entering the United States arrived at (B.) Ellis Island. The Ellis Island was a federal immigration station and was known to be the gateway for millions of immigrant entering the land of the free. It had the busiest immigrant inspection from 1890s to 1950s.
