1. Painting. The Ojibwe (or Chippewa) people uses birch bark extensively on their craft of canoes, baskets, special clothing and letters; this material is resistant, easy to work on and versatile. At the same time, the Chippewa have a ever present art craft (that walks the line between practical and aesthetic meaning), one of them being of painting, that is the most adequate for decorating birch bark crafts.
