Rectangle ABCD is similar to rectangle A′B′C′D′ , and the scale factor from rectangle ABCD to rectangle A′B′C′D′ is 4.

What is the ratio of the area of rectangle A′B′C′D′ to the area of rectangle ABCD ?
4

8

12

16

Respuesta :

When you calculate area, the area is in square units

So if the 2nd rectangles is enlarged by a scale factor of 4, the area would be enlarged by a factor of 4^2.

4^2 = 4*4 = 16

 The answer is 16
