At least 110 hours in classes in anatomy, trauma treatment, obstetrics, legal aspects, medical behavior; and stabilize patient while providing rapid transport to hospital
On-scene treatment; provide basic life support and invasive procedures; assesses patient’s trauma with physical exam, evaluates nature of injury; can re-establish normal breathing; Trained in complicated medical services but not stand-alone care; pass exams of 150 questions in 2 ½ hours
Provide advanced medical care and life support; perform advanced respiratory procedures; deliver babies, perform tracheal intubation; lead the team; must pass state licensing exam with 1500-1800 hours advanced study and practice
